Just off Otemae Street.
Café Kotonaki (@cafe_kotonaki) has opened today, July 11, for a pre-opening launch. It’s located on the 2nd floor behind the Nepalese-Indian restaurant DARBAR and Himekawa. It’s also about a one-minute walk from Obake Press and Spice Suehiro, and right across from KUUHAKUCOFFEE_HIMEJI.
The cozy interior offers five counter seats and two bright two-person tables.
The owner previously handled the entire food and dessert menu at Teeda, a popular vegan spot near Agaho Station. Some of you may remember their signature items!
The pre-opening menu featured:
Lunch: Vegan taco rice
Sweets: Vegan chocolate cake, two types of muffins
Drinks: Several options
If you loved the taco rice or muffins at Teeda, you’re in for a treat 🤤
Kotonaki has a friendly relationship with their neighbor, KUUHAKUCOFFEE_HIMEJI, and they welcome:
☕🧁 Bringing coffee from KUUHAKU to enjoy with Kotonaki’s sweets
☕🧁 Bringing Kotonaki’s treats into KUUHAKU to pair with their coffee
All lunch, sweets, and drinks are available for takeout.
The grand opening is scheduled for Sunday, July 13.
Just minutes from Himeji Castle, Kotonaki is in a great location for both locals and tourists. With an English-speaking owner and a fully vegan menu, it’s sure to be a hit with international visitors as well.
We had a lovely chat with the owner, and we’ll share more details soon in an upcoming post.
For now, just a quick note to say: Kotonaki is opening soon!
